We are family run and our motivation is seeing businesses who advertise with us get a return on their investment and grow in their communities.
We took over The Villages Mag in Holmes Chapel and Go Local in Middlewich in 2017, both of which had been established for over 10 years. In 2019 we launched Beartown Voice in Congleton and in 2022 we launched Go Local Sandbach
About Arch Publications
We have worked with hundreds of businesses over the last ten years. Before taking over the magazines we ran South Cheshire Print, a local print company based in Middlewich. This time was spent growing our local business and working with so many, this has given us a strong understanding of what works (and what doesn’t).
We will always give honest advice on advertising with us, because what might work for a plumber would be different to a shop or a solicitor, whether it’s how many editions to book or the size of the advert.
Our magazines wouldn’t be successful if our advertisers didn’t get work from them, and we have had clients that have stayed in our other magazines for many years. This is because they see a return on their investment and get value from being in them regularly.
For our readers it can be difficult to find services and trades, and we make it easier by landing on their doormat 10 times each year, and being part of this consistent approach can help build trust in your brand.
Alongside the magazines we also have recently launched a podcast, which features interviews with businesses and other local people with interesting stories. We offer this as a free add-on to our advertisers, and you will see some adverts or interviews in the magazine with QR codes with links to the podcast. If there is a business you are considering calling, these will give you an opportunity to learn more about them, what they do and the services they provide.
The Team
David joined us one year ago. He studied marketing at Aston University before working in sales and marketing in the steel trade. More recently he enjoyed senior management positions in the computer entertainment industry. A few years ago he moved to Cheshire to be nearer his family and 7 grandchildren. David is here to help our new customers promote their businesses across South Cheshire.
Matt is our designer. He puts the magazines together and designs artwork for our clients. He loves being creative, from a simple advert, to building a brand or creating websites he can do it all.
There are three of us behind the magazine. I am Katy the editor; I had a long radio career and owned a print business for eight years. I live in Holmes Chapel, with my husband Matt, son and two dogs. We are a family business.
Paper has been an essential communications medium for 2,000 years. Even in today’s digital world, paper continues to be the preferred format for readers of books, magazines and newspapers. Please be assured that the environment is at the centre of our business, from the paper we use, to the transportation of the magazines to the adverts supporting local businesses, promoting the value of shopping locally.
Paper is a uniquely renewable and sustainable product. The main raw material, trees, are grown and harvested in a carefully controlled and sustainable way, so successfully in fact that European forests, which provide 90% of the wood fibre used by the European pulp and paper industry, have grown by an area the size of Switzerland in just 15 years! There aren’t many industries around that can aspire to become genuinely sustainable. The paper industry, however, is one of them. For more information on industries who have paper at the heart of what they do, go to www.lovepaper.org.
